An exhibition on World War I has opened at the National Library of Ireland in Dublin.

Featuring letters, diaries, newspapers and photographs from the library's archives, it aims to depict the various aspects of the Irish experience of the war, and Ireland's response to the conflict.

The collection also includes audio recordings of letters, poetry and songs composed during the period.

The exhibition will run until 1918, with some of the material on view being refreshed each year.

Supported by the British Embassy, it is part of the National Library's programme for its Decade of Commemorations.

The content of the exhibition, along with learning resources for schools, is also available online.
