The jury in the trial of a heating and plumbing contractor accused of the manslaughter of a woman who died from carbon monoxide poisoning at a hotel in Kinsale, has been sent home for the night.
The jury of three women and nine men deliberated for over three hours at Cork Circuit Criminal Court before being send home by Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin.
Richard Davis, 45, of Serenity Killanully, Ballygarvan, Co Cork denies the manslaughter of 35-year-old Miriam Reidy, from Ballyhahill, Co Limerick at the Trident Hotel in Kinsale on 9 January 2011.
He has also pleaded not guilty to two charges under the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act (2005).
The company he is a director of, Davis Heating & Plumbing Contractors Limited, has also entered a plea of not guilty to similar charges under the act.
The jury will resume their deliberations at 10.30am tomorrow.
