Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Brendan Howlin has said the Government will ensure that the new National Children's Hospital will be fully equipped and fully staffed.
According to a report in today's Irish Times, Minister for Health Leo Varadkar has claimed there is no money to equip the hospital.
Mr Howlin said he hoped construction of the hospital would get under way next year.
In September, the development board for the new hospital said the hospital will take its first patients by the second quarter of 2019.
The hospital will be built on the St James's Hospital site in Dublin 8.
International architects BDP have been appointed to design the new hospital by next summer.
