Around 30,000 people lined the streets of Galway this evening, as the Macnas parade snaked its way through the city.
It is the second year that the company has staged a Halloween spectacular, after funding issues led to the cancellation of its traditional Arts Festival parade in 2013.
The "Symphony for the Restless" featured hundreds of volunteers, members of the street theatre company and a number of local musicians.
The parade left the Macnas rehearsal space at Fisheries Field shortly after 4.45pm and made its way over the Salmon Weir bridge, before continuing along Eglinton Street, Shop Street and Quay Street.
A number of the company's creations from recent years made a return visit for this year's parade, the centrepiece of which was a character called Crom the giant.
