A ten-day protest at the Kinsale Road Accommodation Centre in Cork is over following talks between residents and the management company.
Spokesman Lucky Khambule told RTÉ News that residents have voted to accept an agreement reached with management company Aramark on a number of local issues, including living conditions and food.
A decision to suspend their action and to monitor the implementation of the agreement was taken by residents at a meeting this afternoon.
The blockade at the entrance was to be cleared this evening.
From tomorrow morning, staff and delivery supply trucks will be able to gain access.
On the controversial issue of Direct Provision, Mr Khambule said they understand the problems with the system could not be resolved overnight, and await the findings of Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald's working group.
There are about 243 residents at the accommodation centre; 60 of whom are children.
It is one of the biggest accommodation centres for asylum seekers in the country.
