Labour Relations Commission Chief Executive Kieran Mulvey has said many people who worked in sheltered workshops in recent decades may be entitled to compensation.
In a special report from RTÉ's Investigations Unit, broadcast on Prime Time last night, Mr Mulvey raised concerns about pay rates for those in the workshops.
The workshops were set up to provide training and a sense of purpose for people with intellectual and physical disabilities.
Mr Mulvey said he is astonished by the dearth of information on the workshops within the Labour Relations Commission.
