Four Irish citizens being held by Egyptian authorities in Cairo have had their periods of detention extended again by a further 45 days.
The Halawa siblings have now been detained for over six weeks.
They were arrested on Saturday 17 August after taking part in a protest in Cairo the day before.
It is understood Omaima, Fatima and Somaia Halawa - aged in their 20s - and their 17-year-old brother Ibrahim were brought before a prosecutor again yesterday.
Their mother and their sister, Khadija, are in Cairo and have been visiting them in prison.
Another sister, Nosayba, who is in Dublin, said her three sisters are being held at Al-Qanatir prison in Cairo, while Ibrahim is being detained at Al-Salam Central Security Forces camp.
Nosayba Halawa said her family have applied for an appeal against their detention, but she does not know whether their appeal will be allowed to be heard.
Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Eamon Gilmore said the Irish embassy in Cairo was in contact with the Halawa siblings, and Irish authorities were keeping the Halawa family up to date.
Mr Gilmore said it was a matter of ongoing concern for the Government.
