An investigation is under way after an off-duty garda was stabbed in Dublin.

The officer was attacked on the Phibsborough Road at 2.30am on Sunday morning.

He was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Gardaí say no arrests have been made.
