Four viable devices made safe in Dundalk, Co Louth

Four viable improvised explosive devices have been made safe by an Army Bomb Disposal Team in Dundalk, Co Louth.

The devices were located in a derelict house in a residential area in Haggardstown.

The area had been cordoned off by gardaí and local residents were evacuated for a time.

The Army team attended the scene following a request from the gardaí and declared the devices safe at 6.15pm.

The devices are to be removed for further examination by the Army before being handed over to the gardaí.
