Six arrested in Eamon Kelly murder investigation

Six people have been arrested by gardaí investigating the murder of Eamon Kelly in Dublin last Tuesday.

The 65-year-old was shot dead close to his home in Killester.

Gardaí say the four men and two women, who range in ages from their 20s to early 40s, were arrested early this morning.

They are being held at Raheny, Coolock and Ballymun garda stations..

Yesterday, a man has been charged with Tuesday’s murder.

Sean Connolly, 34, with an address at Bernard Curtis House, Bluebell, Dublin 12, appeared before a special sitting of the Special Criminal Court.

He was also charged with membership of an illegal organisation, styling itself the IRA, and with the possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

He was remanded in custody to appear before the Special Criminal Court via video link on 20 December.
