Nine people have been arrested following a six-month garda anti-drugs operation in Co Cavan.
They are being held in various garda stations around the county and are being questioned in relation to the sale and supply of drugs.
A substantial quantity of drugs and cash was seized along with other drugs-related equipment.
The operation targeted drugs gangs operating in the Bailieborough and Cootehill areas.
Ecstasy and other drugs were seized.
It is understood that one local businessman is among those arrested and is being questioned about letting his premises be used for selling drugs.
The operation was led by gardaí from the Cavan-Monaghan division and involved a number of officers from several specialised garda units, who worked undercover for months.
All nine are due to appear before a sitting of Virginia District Court tomorrow.
