The national suicide prevention charity, Console, has urged anyone affected by cyberbullying to seek help from the organisation immediately.
The call comes after the death of teenager Erin Gallagher in Co Donegal this weekend.
One day before her death, the 13-year-old had posted an online message which suggested she was being bullied.
She also talked about suicide.
Erin was a second year student at Finn Valley College in Stranorlar and today parents held a meeting to discuss the tragedy.
The principal of the school, Frank Dooley, said he was totally upset that a "lovely young girl" saw fit to die tragically. He added that the family is in great grief.
Counsellors from the Health Service Executive are on site and gardaí say they are treating the death as a personal tragedy.
