A man in his 40s is seriously ill after being stabbed in the chest when two men tried to steal his phone in Belfast.
The incident occurred at 2.30am on Waterford Street in Belfast.
The victim was approached by another man who demanded his phone.
He was stabbed in the chest before the man made off with his mobile.
Although the victim's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, his condition is described as serious, and he remains in hospital.
The PSNI is appealing for anyone who was in the area in the early hours of this morning to contact them.
