Two men are still being held in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Ballymun in Dublin.

Gardaí believe the victim, named locally as Jason Flannery, died following a dispute over noise from a late-night party.

Mr Flannery was in his early 40s and a father of three children.

The alarm was raised at 4am and gardaí found the man's body on the road outside a house on St Joseph's Way.

Neighbours said the dead man's family had been celebrating their daughter's Junior Certificate results.

However, a dispute occurred with a member of another family which then escalated.

A man in his 30s who was seriously injured in the incident remains in hospital.

A man and woman in their 20s were released after treatment at the Mater Hospital. The two men who were arrested are being held at Ballymun Garda Station.
