A teenager has been remanded in custody after appearing in court in connection with a serious assault in Tuam on Sunday morning.
Shane Byrne, 18, of no fixed address was charged with assaulting 22-year-old Shane Grogan at Fairgreen, Tuam in the early hours of yesterday morning.
He was charged with assault causing harm and remanded in custody to appear again before Harristown Court on Friday.
Mr Grogan was seriously injured in the assault and has undergone surgery in Beaumount Hospital, Dublin.
