Thousands of people have attended the annual Gay Pride parade through Belfast city centre.
The organisers claim Belfast’s Gay Pride parade is now the largest of its kind in Ireland, and one of the top ten in the United Kingdom.
Several thousand participants marched and danced on floats as the parade made its way through the city centre.
Along the way large crowds watched and applauded as it passed.
Members of various religious groups protested, displaying posters condemning homosexuality.
However, the event passed off without incident, and ended with an open-air concert in the city’s Custom House Square.
