A German chef has said he is the man in CCTV footage viewed by the jury in the Michaela McAreavey murder trial on Friday.
Speaking from Munich, Harald Hoyer said that if necessary he would travel to give evidence at the trial.
On Friday, the prosecuting counsel and a senior police officer said a couple featured in CCTV footage from the legends hotel were two German tourists.
Defence lawyers maintain they are John and Michaela McAreavey.
If the defence stance is true, Mr McAreavey had given contradicting details of his movements to the court and the entire prosecution case is undermined.
Mr Hoyer was asked would he be prepared to give evidence in court in Mauritius.
He said: "Yes, I would certainly do that. I could also give an affidavit here in Germany, I could do it in the German legal system or with the German police. But of course I would do that.
"If I could definitely help the husband of Michaela I would do that, yes."
