Hundreds of mourners have attended the funeral of a Wexford woman who was found dead in a Tokyo hotel room two weeks ago.

Nicola Furlong, 21, was in Japan as part of her studies with Dublin City University.

She was buried after funeral mass in St Margaret's Church in Curracloe.

Parish Priest Fr Jim Fitzpatrick said Nicola's life and had been tragically and violently cut tragically cut short.

Ms Furlong’s sister Andrea said no one would ever be able to replace the piece of her heart that is now missing and said she was blessed to have her as a friend and big sister.

Two men are still being held in Tokyo in connection with Nicola's death.
