Closing speeches at Fred Forsey Jr corruption trial

The jury at the trial of an ex-Fine Gael deputy mayor accused of accepting tens of thousands of euro in corrupt payments from a developer has heard the closing speeches in the case.

Fred Forsey Jr, 43, of Coolagh Road, Dungarvan, Co Waterford, denies that €80,000 he received from the developer in three payments were corrupt. He claims the money was loaned to him at a time.

The trial at Waterford Circuit Court started last week and this morning the defence case concluded.
