Laya Healthcare is to create 100 jobs over the next three years.
Earlier this month, private health insurer Quinn Healthcare rebranded itself as Laya Healthcare.
It already employs more than 340 people at Little Island in Co Cork.
The firm said the new name is taken from the company's promise to its members that it is "Looking After You Always".
Most of the senior management team have been involved in the organisation since it was first launched here as BUPA Ireland 15 years ago.
A decade later it was taken over by the Quinn Group, and last December senior management led a buyout of the business.
Laya's policies are underwritten by a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Zurich-based global insurance company Swiss Re.
Laya Healthcare has 450,000 members, making it the second biggest player in the private health insurance market in this country with just over 20% market share.
Laya says it plans to grow that market share as well as offer new insurance products, and it says the 100 additional people being recruited will fill positions in sales, customer service and claims.
