PSNI says fatal Dungannon house fire was started deliberately

The PSNI has said the fire that killed a woman and her daughter in Co Tyrone was started deliberately.

Deirdre McGirr, 38, and her mother Elizabeth McGirr, 71, died in the blaze at Dunlea Vale, Dungannon, on Saturday night.

Mrs McGirr was visting her daughter when the fire broke out in the top-floor flat at around 10pm.

A man in his 30s escaped the fire.
