Three arrested after robbery at Carlow jewellers

Three men have been arrested following a robbery at a jewellery shop in Carlow.

The men entered Bramleys Jewellers at around 10.30am and used pepper spray on the owner Pat Bramley when he confronted them.

They took rings and bracelets worth around €20,000 and left the scene in a Fiat Punto.

They were arrested near the Carlow to Dublin motorway.

The stolen goods, an imitation weapon and a can of pepper spray were later recovered in Co Kildare.

The three men, who are Lithuanian nationals, are being held at Carlow Garda Station.
