A man who sustained internal injuries after being crushed by an elephant remains in a critical but stable condition at Cork University Hospital.
Speaking to RTÉ News, Wayne Courtney said they were told that the man sustained crushed ribs during an incident in Blackpool on Saturday night.
Mr Courtney, who runs the circus, said workers were getting ready for a performance when the incident happened in the elephant pen.
One elephant hit another and the injured man "got a knock" as a result.
Witnesses said the man was treated at the scene by an HSE Rapid Response Unit and by paramedics.
