The High Court in London has been told that property developer Paddy McKillen has negotiated funding from investors in Qatar to secure control of three top hotels in London.
Mr McKillen is challenging Sir Frederick and Sir David Barclay's takeover of the hotels last year.
Mr Justice David Richards disclosed that Mr McKillen has negotiated a 50/50 joint venture with Qatari investors who include Sheik Hamed, the prime minister of Qatar.
There is also a potential management fee in it for Mr McKillen for the future development of two of the hotels, the Berkeley and the Connaught.
Mr McKillen was questioned about this fee and the Qatari funding offer in cross examination today, but much of the detail, including who is paying his legal bills, remains a mystery to his opponents.
So far his opponents had been prevented by the court from accessing information about his current finances.
Belfast-born Mr McKillen is suing the Barclay brothers for control of the three London hotels, Claridges, the Connaught and the Berkely.
Mr McKillen has spent two days in the witness box answering questions.
He will continue his evidence tomorrow.
