The jury in the trial of a Dublin man charged with murdering rugby player Shane Geoghegan has gone home for the night and will resume its deliberations in the morning.
Barry Doyle, 26, of Portland Row in Dublin, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Mr Geoghegan, 28, in November 2008.
The eight men and three women were deliberating for almost an hour and a half today.
They told Mr Justice Garrett Sheehan they would prefer to resume their deliberations in the morning as they want to give it "100%".
Mr Geoghegan had been playing rugby with Garryowen rugby club on the day he was shot.
He was returning home to the house he shared with his girlfriend after being at a friend's house when he was attacked.
His girlfriend received a text from him in the early hours of 9 November 2008, and a short time later heard shots.
Gardaí found Mr Geoghegan's body on a step in the back garden of a house across the road from his own.
Mr Doyle was arrested in February 2009.
