A murder investigation has begun into the death of a 46-year-old man in Clonmel, Co Tipperary.
Anthony Fallon was assaulted in the early hours of yesterday morning and was found dead in a stairwell in an apartment block on New Quay in the town.
It is understood he received a number of head injuries.
Following a post mortem examination last night, gardaí upgraded their investigation from one of suspicious death to murder.
A team of 30 officers are working on the case and have interviewed dozens of people in an effort to track down the last known movements of Mr Fallon.
