The death of a man in his 40s in Co Tipperary is being treated as suspicious.
The man's body was discovered at the bottom of a stairwell in an apartment block on New Quay in Clonmel town shortly before 6.45am.
The scene has been cordoned off for a technical examination.
Gardaí say a related scene was identified at an apartment on Abbey Street nearby, which has also been preserved.
The man has been named locally as 46-year-old Anthony Fallon.
He had been living in a flat in Abbey Street in the town for the past few months.
The separated father of two was described by those who knew him as a warm, fun-loving man.
A post mortem examination will be carried out on his body later today.
