The RTÉ Board has reviewed the broadcaster's internal and external investigations arising from the Prime Time Investigates programme, A Mission to Prey.
The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland is also investigating the matter, and has asked RTÉ to keep its investigations and recommendations confidential until that inquiry is concluded in the New Year.
RTÉ has agreed to do so.
Pending completion of the BAI inquiry, specific recommendations made by Professor John Horgan for improved editorial processes and safeguards around investigative journalism programming are to be implemented.
