Proposed legislation providing for restrictions on judges' pay has passed the second stage in the Dail, without a vote.

The Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest Amendment Bill came after the overwhelming 'Yes' vote in the referendum on judicial pay last month, with almost 80% voting in its favour.

The legislation was passed this evening.

It is also expected to pass Committee and Final Stages.
