Two men were hospitalised following an early morning shooting incident in Templemore, Co Tipperary.

The men, aged 20 and 22, were taken to South Tipperary General Hospital - their injuries are said not to be life threatening.

The scene of the shooting at Townpark was sealed off for a forensic examination. No arrests have been made.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information to contact them at Templemore Garda Station on 0504-32630, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666111 or any garda station.

Separately in Co Waterford, gardaí have begun an investigation after a shot was fired into a house in the Ballybeg estate.

A man was seen approaching the house in the Priory Lawn area and fired a shot through the front window shortly before 10am.

A woman was in the house at the time but was not injured.

Gardaí say the man was of medium build and wearing a balaclava, blue hoodie top and dark trousers.

No arrests have been made.
