A man has been sentenced to life in prison after he shot dead a man as he walked along a street in Dublin with his girlfriend and two children.

Keith Wilson, 23, from Cremona Road in Ballyfermot was convicted of the murder of Daniel Gaynor by a unanimous verdict at the Central Criminal Court this afternoon.

Mr Gaynor died after he was shot in the neck at St Helena's Road in Finglas on 14 August last year.

In a victim impact statement, his partner said the children were still in counselling and Mr Gaynor's mother was inconsolable.
