A woman convicted of soliciting a man to kill her partner and his two children, in a case known as the "Lying Eyes" trial, has lost an appeal against her conviction.
Sharon Collins, 47, of Kildysart Road in Ennis, Co Clare, was sentenced to six years in jail in October 2008 for soliciting a man to kill her partner PJ Howard and his two sons.
Her co-accused Essam Eid was also jailed for six years for demanding money with menace and handling stolen property.
His sentence was backdated and he was released earlier this year.
Eid was extradited to the US where he is wanted on charges of conspiracy, extortion and threatening to kill a man.
Collins was also convicted of three counts of conspiring to kill Mr Howard and his sons.
However during her appeal hearing, the State conceded it was "logically unsustainable" to stand over the conspiracy charges as Eid had been acquitted of conspiracy.
The three judges of the Court of Criminal Appeal finished hearing Collins' appeal in March last year.
At the time they said it could be "some time" before a judgment was delivered.
During the trial in 2008, the court was told that Collins used the name 'Lying Eyes' to contact Eid by email.
Eid who called himself Tony Luciano described himself as a hitman-for-hire on his website.
