Two people have been arrested following a breach of data security involving the website myjob.ie.

Gardaí have confirmed that two people were arrested earlier this week and a file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Myjob.ie emailed customers today to inform them of the incident.

They say their website was not the primary source of the breach, but have asked users to immediately change their passwords as a precautionary measure.

They also warned users that if they have the same password for other websites - such as their email account - that these too should be changed.

The email by myjob.ie Managing Director John Doupe apologised for the inconveniences or stress caused.

It is not known how many people have been affected by the breach or what type of personal information may have been accessed.
