Gardaí investigating the murder of Seamus McMahon in March have made a new arrest in relation to the case.
The 39-year-old is the second person to be arrested in connection with the investigation.
Mr McMahon, 41, from Green Acres in Dundalk, was visiting a woman in the Saltown area of Dundalk when he was shot dead on 21 March.
A 32-year-old woman was arrested on 7 June, was subsequently released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The man is being detained at Dundalk Garda Station under section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act.
