Two people have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of a 30-year-old man in Co Galway.

A man and a woman, both in their 30s, are being held at Tuam Garda Station.

Juris Buls was last seen at his home in Glenamaddy, Co Galway, at 10.45pm on Thursday 7 July.

The Latvian national failed to turn up for work at Titan Plastics, Glenamaddy, that night.

Gardaí in Tuam say they have serious concerns for his welfare and have appealed for anyone who may have seen unusual or suspicious activity around his house at Ballymore Road to contact them.

Mr Buls is described as 1.7m (5' 7'') tall, with short blonde hair and blue eyes, and is of light build.

He may have been wearing a blue heavy lined work jacket, with the inscription, 'Titan', in white writing on the front left lapel, and the word 'Kingspan' on the back.

Gardaí have sealed off a house in Glenamaddy town as part of their investigation and are also carrying out searches of land around the Glenamaddy area.

Anyone with information relating to his whereabouts, or any sighting of his car, a black Audi A4 with the registration number 04 D 76216, is asked to contact Tuam Garda Station at 093 70840.
