Two men have been arrested after what is believed to be a significant find of bomb making material in Co Louth.

The arrests were made after armed gardaí raided a farm near Hackballscross as part of a planned operation this afternoon.

They found what is believed to be a substantial quantity of fertilizer, which was being processed to make explosives, in an out building.

An Army Bomb Disposal team is currently on the scene.

Both men, who are in their 50s, are being held at Balbriggan and Drogheda Garda Stations.

The raid was part of an ongoing operation against dissident republicans.
