The skeletal remains discovered in a Dublin park last Wednesday have been identified as those of missing woman Bernie Gavan.
The 59-year-old went missing in August 2007.
Children retrieving a football from underneath an electricity pylon at Tolka Valley Park in Finglas found the remains.
Gardaí say the circumstances surrounding her death are tragic and no foul play is suspected.
Her remains have now been released to her family for funeral and burial.
