Three men in their 20s have been shot in an incident in Blanchardstown in Dublin.

One person is reported to be in a critical condition. The other two men are said to be in a serious condition.

It is understood the three men were in Corduff Park when two gunmen approached them on foot and fired several shots at around 11.15am.

All three were hit. Two of the men managed to run some distance away, however it is believed the third man was shot in the head.

The victims were taken to the Mater Hospital and the Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment.

Gardaí are appealing in particular to anyone in the Corduff Park / Edgewood Lawns area between 11am and 1130am to contact them at Blanchardstown Garda Station at 01-6667000.

The Minister for Justice has condemned the shooting.

Alan Shatter said he shared the sense of revulsion of many people at reports of the attack and described the incident as revolting to all law abiding citizens.
