A 21-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of withholding information in relation to the disappearance of a woman in Mayo ten years ago.
29-year-old Sandra Collins was last seen in the Killala area in December 2000.
A local woman was arrested at 11am this morning and is being held at Ballina Garda Station.
She can be detained for up to 72 hours under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
Supt Peter Boyle described the arrest as a significant development.
It follows fresh publicity surrounding the case after gardaí renewed an appeal for information about the missing woman.
