A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a woman's body at a house in Castlebar, Co Mayo.
The man was arrested at 8am at Corha, Islandeady and is still being questioned.
Gardaí were called to a house about 7km from Castlebar at Derrycrieve, Islandeady, at 1.40am.
They had been alerted to the death of the 46-year-old woman by another occupant of the house.
The house and the area around it were immediately sealed off and were to be examined by technical experts today.
The post mortem is continuing this evening.
Gardaí say no results of the post mortem exmination will be released until tomorrow at the earliest.
