Three men have been arrested as part of an investigation into the shooting of a man in Blarney, Co Cork, this afternoon.
The man was shot dead after a row with an occupant of a car in Waterloo at around 3.45pm.
The victim is thought to be aged in late 30s.
It is understood that the man was driving his van when he was involved in an altercation with the occupant of a car.
Shots were fired.
The man attempted to escape from the van but was shot twice as he tried to do so.
Two of the arrested men are being detained at Gurranabraher Garda Station, while the other is being held at Mayfield.
The State Pathologist has been notified and a post mortem examination is expected to take place tomorrow.
