A security alert, which led to the evacuation of dozens of homes in north Belfast overnight, is continuing in the Antrim Road area of the city.
A number of controlled explosions were carried out last night and a second suspicious object was being examined this afternoon.
The security alert began yesterday afternoon after a caller contacted a local media outlet claiming that a bomb had been left somewhere on the Antrim Road.
The PSNI says the object found yesterday was a 'viable anti-personnel device'. A spokesperson said it was 'designed to kill'.
Police say the road, which has been closed since 4pm yesterday, is not expected to reopen until tomorrow.
Officers said up to 50 families were moved from their homes overnight, while a children's home in the area was also evacuated.
