The Kingdom newspaper, which is based in Killarney in Co Kerry, is to close with the loss of 11 jobs.
The weekly newspaper has been owned by Thomas Crosbie Holdings since 2000.
Chief Executive Tom Murphy said the decision to close the newspaper was taken as a result of the severe economic downturn and falling advertising revenues and circulation.
