A flight carrying the body of Michaela McAreavey, and her husband, John, is due to leave the island of Mauritius this evening, to fly her home for a funeral next week.
Her coffin is also being accompanied by other family members and is expected to be flown to London and then on to Belfast tomorrow.
The 27-year-old teacher, who was the daughter of Tyrone football manager Mickey Harte, was found dead by her husband in their hotel room on Monday.
In an emotional statement last night, Mr McAreavey described his 'beautiful wife' as his best friend.
Mr McAreavey said: 'I can't describe in words how lost I feel as Michaela is not just the light of my life - she is my life.
'My beautiful wife, my best friend, my rock Michaela, has been taken from me and I still can't take it in.
'Our hopes, our dreams and our future together are gone. I love my wife very, very much and my world revolved around her.'
Three men, who appeared in court yesterday charged in connection with her murder, were remanded in custody.
All worked at the hotel where the couple had been staying while on honeymoon.
The Mauritius police force said the two men charged with the murder were Avinash Treebhoowoon, 29, a room attendant, and floor supervisor Sandip Moneea, 41.
Room attendant Raj Theekoy, 33, faces the conspiracy charge.
Irish Ambassador to South Africa Brendan McMahon is in Mauritius to assist the families.
Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Mr McMahon said local people were shocked by Mrs McAreavey's murder.
It is understood skin tissue found under the fingernails of Mrs McAreavey could prove crucial to the police case against the men.
DNA tests on forensic evidence recovered from her body are due to be completed by the end of the week.
Police believe Mrs McAreavey interrupted burglars who had gained access to the room using an electronic key card.
It is hoped a trial will take place within six months.
Meanwhile, Mauritian officials have held a crisis meeting amid fears Mrs McAreavey's murder will damage the country's multi-billion dollar tourism industry.
Tourism minister Nando Bodha said everyone was shocked at the killing and that it was the first time something so tragic had happened to a visitor. He insisted the island was a safe destination.
