The councillor charged with assaulting Minister for Health Mary Harney, who was splattered with paint at a hospital in Dublin last month, has pleaded not guilty in court today.

Dublin City Cllr Louise Minihan, who is also a member of the Éirígí Party, faces a second charge of criminal damage after red paint was thrown at the minister during a sod turning ceremony at Cherry Orchard Hospital in Ballyfermot last November.

The judge set aside a half day for hearing the case and remanded Ms Minihan on continuing bail to appear again for trial on 25 February.
