Gardaí investigating a double stabbing in Drogheda, Co Louth, are searching for a man who left the scene after the attack.
A 39-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were stabbed in an apartment in the Fitzwilliam Court complex at around 2pm.
Both were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where the man is in a critical condition.
The woman's injuries are described as not life-threatening.
Gardaí in Drogheda are following a definite line of inquiry and they have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
