Gardaí are still questioning a 29-year-old woman in connection with a serious assault on a young man in Co Westmeath.
It is believed the 19-year-old man was attacked by a number of people at Ginnell Terrace in Mullingar at around 6.45pm on Saturday evening.
He was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin with head injuries. He remains in a critical but stable condition.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
