The State is to seek a retrial of a Donegal man accused of the manslaughter of a garda, who died two weeks after being struck by a car.
Last week, a jury at Letterkenny Circuit Court failed to reach a verdict on the charge of manslaughter against Jamie McGrenaghan of Gortnatraw, Kerrykeel, Co Donegal.
McGrenaghan had pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter of 29-year-old Garda Robbie McCallion, but admitted dangerous driving causing his death.
He was found guilty of endangering the lives of two of Garda McCallion's colleagues.
