Homeless - Charity warns Government over cuts

A charity representing homeless people has warned the Government that any cuts to existing funding would cost the State more money in the long term.

In its pre-Budget submission, Focus Ireland said a reduction of services would deepen the homeless problem and keep people trapped in emergency accommodation.

The charity's chief executive officer, Joyce Loughnan, said the Government should meet its commitment to end long-term homelessness and the need to sleep rough by the end of this year.
