A 27-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was found on a road in an industrial estate in Coolock in Dublin this morning.
The Polish man had been on his way to work when gardaí believe he was assaulted.
He was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he is being treated for head injuries.
Crime scene investigators have spent the day examining the area around Malahide Road Industrial Park.
CCTV from the industrial estate, which is normally busy in the early hours of the morning, is being examined.
Gardaí would like to speak to anyone who had business in the Newtown Industrial Estate between 4am and 5am this morning to contact them on 01 666 4200.
